How does Plasma Nitriding work?
The process begins with loading parts in a vacuum chamber. Nitrogen and hydrogen are ionized to form active species. Nitrogen ions bombard the surface, forming nitride compounds while controlling layer depth and hardness.
Vacuum chamber ensures controlled environment
Gas ionization generates reactive nitrogen species
Nitrogen diffusion produces FeN, then Fe₃N and Fe₄N
Process parameters control hardness, thickness, and reproducibility
